If you trim the top or bottom of the door, you are trimming the predrilled hardware holes causing the hardware to no longer fit.
The total opening width would need to be 72 inches for both bifold doors to open properly without rubbing. The doors can be shaved 1/8 inch on each side if the customer chooses to fit their opening. Also for a 72 inches opening, you would need to purchase 2 items.
